The Wild Rice Inn was founded in 2001 in a painted yellow brick farmhouse built in 1891 by
Andrew Wahlberg. It was updated in 2001 with stained glass and oriental rugs. The view from the second floor of Lake George, St. Mary's Cathedral (1931), and of the dome of the Stearns County Couthouse (1928) is spectacular anytime but especially at sunset.
The Inn is within walking distance of downtown , the Municipal
Pool, Eastman City Park, and SCSU. Guests have easy access to
walking and bicycle trails along the Mississippi River as well as shopping and dining
downtown.
An extended continental breakfast of breads, fruit, cereal, and beverages is served either on the first floor or on the open front porch. Cold beverages and tea are available all day.
